Death and the Aftermath
12" x 36"
Acrylic

I started thinking about this concept after the death of my cat, Shadow, but didn't paint it for a few years for some reason.

The lines represent different aspects of our life... thoughts, emotion, routine... whatever you want them to be.  A death can throw these parts of your life into chaos for a while, but they eventually return to normal.  However, sometimes the pain lingers.

If you follow the lines, you'll see they line up with their starting positions except for two of them.  This switch represents the lingering change a death can leave behind in your mind.
